Since 4 April 1993, Singapore implemented a scheme to tighten control on tanker cleaning activities and the disposal of sludge and slop oil generated from tanker cleaning activities. Under the scheme, the Maritime and Port Authority (MPA) of Singapore will issue permits only to registered tanker cleaning contractors [PDF, 105.4 KB]. These contractors are registered with NEA to carry out tanker cleaning activities in designated areas.
27/01/2020Dry Air/Vacuum Alternative. PGE evaluated alternative technologies that would replace SF 6 and concluded dry air/vacuum was the most cost effective alternative. The utility purchased three 72 kV dry air/vacuum DTCBs prior to Jan. 1, 2009. Based on good results over the last 10 years, it no longer purchases new 72 kV DTCBs that use SF 6. More than 30 72 kV dry air/vacuum DTCBs currently are installed, resulting in reliable service and reduced maintenance cost.
